Overview

SUTRA, a leading brand in the hair tools industry, inherited a line of hair care products after merging with a competitior.

I was tasked with designing the packaging and creating a visual identity for the new line, which became known as “Heat Guard.”

The packaging needed to maintain SUTRA’s existing brand identity, increase recognition, and stand out on store shelves in a competitive market while clearly communicating the line’s central benefit—protecting hair from heat damage.

The Mark

The “Heat Guard” emblem is prominently featured on each product. This identifies the product as part of SUTRA’s heat-protective collection and instantly informs customers of the product’s core benefit: safeguarding hair from heat damage.

E-Commerce

To support Heat Guard’s online presence, I designed a specialized e-commerce experience that included a dedicated landing page and individual product pages for each item in the line. The cohesive digital space complemented the in-store educational materials, creating a unified, multi-channel launch strategy that reinforced Heat Guard’s key benefits.

To unify the new line with SUTRA’s established branding, I integrated their signature lavender purple. This decision helped maintain brand recognition while giving the new product line its own distinct presence.

The soft yet impactful lavender hue visually communicates a sense of care and protection. I also utilized sleek typography and minimalist design elements to represent the clean and sophisticated nature of the products.

In addition to packaging, I developed a series of print materials used to educate consumers on how the Heat Guard products protect, nourish, and strengthen their hair.
